"I cannot begin to tell you how many people came up to me to express their enjoyment and appreciation for music of such heartfelt refinement as to be rarely heard on a concert stage, let alone as support for a not-for-profit event!"
Out of the mind-bogglingly enormous number and diversity of musical ensembles plying their trade in Los Angeles County, the Panache Orchestra was hand-picked to join a highly select group of artists on the L.A. County Arts Commission's Musicians Roster of performers eligible to be engaged for LACAC grant-funded performances.

Exciting
& wildly eclectic - dramatic instrumental music incorporating
styles from Japanese and European folk and classical music to American
rock and blues - The Panache Orchestra's
original compositions encompass a wide spectrum of moods and styles,
from the driving rhythms of pop/rock, the complex structures of chamber
music, and the improvisational qualities of jazz, at times calm and
introspective and at others, up-tempo and energizing, taking the
fundamentals of established musical genres as a departure point to
create new sonic landscapes and musical vernacular with their original
compositions: a hypnotic, intoxicating brew of classical sensibilities
rocked up and shaken with world flavors, spiked with the spontaneity of
mutant blues and gypsy jazz.
The Panache Orchestra
suggests turning off your cell phones and your useless genres. If you
must have labels, perhaps Brenda K's classical violin and Chi Saito's
rhythm-driven acoustic guitar and dramatic instrumental compositions are "Rattling the Chamber-Music Cage." Or "Anime Beatnik Combo." Another
label might be simply "Beautiful." Woven into TPO's DNA are strands of
The Beatles, Django & Stephane , Mahavishnu Orchestra, and
traditional music of Europe and Japan shaken up with a shot of vintage
rock 'n roll, and as the night grows longer and the cocktails
accumulate, a dynamic, swashbuckling romanticism emerges.

Review of "10 Strings"
Review of Live Performance
ReviewYou March 24, 2010 The Panache Orchestra: 10 Strings, CD Review 10 Strings of Infinite Beauty Rating: ***** (Five stars out of five) The Panache Orchestra can best be described as being a band that makes music that is hard to describe. Most music fits into a certain genre, but with The Panache Orchestra, that is not the case. They are neither classical nor pop, but more a bit of both with touches of new age and chamber music added to mix for good measure. After one listen to 10 Strings genre no longer matters. The elegant simplicity of the acoustic guitar and violin will blow you away.
"The
PANACHE ORCHESTRA -- violinist Brenda K and guitarist Chi Saito --
proved the perfect compliment to the vocal ensemble of WoM. Each of
their instrumental pieces was like a virtual musical tour of a new sonic
landscape and musical genre. Rather than simply trying to express or
duplicate a genre (jazz, blues, Latin, and more) they artfully used the
elements of that genre as a departure point. Brenda created looping and
soaring melodies supported by Chi's strummed and arpeggiated guitar
harmonies and subtle but precise grooves. The result was hypnotic
instrumental music, simultaneously fresh and familiar, that earned them
enthusiastic and spontaneous applause after each musical journey
returned them to the stage and the audience gently back to the room."
